  My friends and I came here for dinner on vacation and were pretty disappointed. Our server was friendly and timely but the food was pretty disappointing. I'd expect fresh seafood when staying at the gulf but unfortunately this isn't the place to get it. It's more of a bar atmosphere with a bar menu than an actual restaurant. The prices are very high for what you're getting as well. A check for two was over $60 (one drink, one app, two entrees)! Overall, I'd only go here for a beer and appetizer to watch the game.

  After all the negative reviews of this place I was very pleasantly surprised. 7 of us went and we tried a lot of things, so I would like to rate what we had. The steamed crab claws, hush puppies, fried shrimp, and reese's peanut butter pie were excellent! The blackened shrimp, fried grouper, crabcakes, and steamed royal red shrimp were good. The cheese grits and key lime pie were below average. Overall the place was substantially better than what I was suspecting, based on a lot of the reviews I read. My experience would give this place a solid 4 stars.
